Need Help Planning Meals?

A new website Tasty Planner (thanks Lifehacker) is an innovative way to plan your meals for the coming weeks. There is an entire database of recipes to search through and you can add your favorites to the Recipe Box as you search. From there you can plan your meals using the Meal Calendar for the upcoming weeks. Pretty simple, right? Here’s where it gets interesting.

While you build your meal calendar from your favorite recipes, a grocery list is being created for all the ingredients you need to make those meals. The grocery list itself is very flexible as you can add items that you need that are not required for the recipe, re-order the list and mark items off if you already have them ‘in stock’.

When you are done planning your meals, you can print the grocery list and head to the store. Or you can take your electronic list with you with the specially formatted website for your iPhone! Better yet, if you have a home delivery service like Peapod as we discussed in “Home Work from the Road” you can shop from the comfort of your own home!

Being There While Away

We all have to travel from time to time. Some of us more than others. Whether your travel involves a trip to China for a walk through of the new manufacturing facility, or just a day in the office for work, your kids will miss you! Wouldn’t it be great if you could shoot home just to say “Hi” even when you are miles (or continents) away!

Well, chances are you already have all the tools you need to do this: a computer with internet at home? Probably. A computer for the road/office? Most likely. An internet connection on the road? I’m sure you’ll find one! Well then, go ahead and install Skype so you can make free skype-to-skype calls. Better yet…go get yourself a web cam for the home and your laptop and you can make skype-to-skype video calls for free as well!
